I’m going to share some tips and techniques for taking and posting beautiful photos for your blog or website. If there is one thing that being a business owner (and more importantly, a consumer!) has taught me, it’s that appearance is everything.
Now, we’re told over and over to look past the surface; not to judge a book by its cover; beauty is only skin deep… but you know as well as I do that sites like Pinterest are popular because it’s a catalog of visually stunning things.
That being said! With the technology that’s available today (and oftentimes for free!), there’s no reason *not* to have an amazing looking blog or website. I’m going to show you how!
Blog Photo School: Borders 101
One way to give your website a more streamlined, professional look is to maintain a certain theme when you style your photos. A great way to do that is with borders around your photos! Here’s an easy way to add a scalloped border (or anything, really) with Photoshop.
(Note: If you don’t have Photoshop, there’s an amazing free program called The Gimp which is very similar. I used it for a long time before I even touched Photoshop. It has most of the same capabilities and a lot of functions are performed the same way. Give it a try!)

What do you think? Yay or nay for the tutorial style? Comments and constructive criticism are more than welcome!

Question – What is that shape you use to explain the step/how did you make it?!
It’s a PS custom shape – I’m planning on writing a tutorial on them soon! If you aren’t familiar with them, I’d be happy to explain how to use them
