Yesterday I got together with a fellow ukulelist to fiddle (ukulele?) around and talk about crafting and art-ing. Lori, a henna artist who I met at a bellydancing festival, shares the same tendency to collect hobbies. It was really nice to hang out with her. It reminded me of the strap I made for my uke (this is my latest acquisition, a Samick Tenor ukulele. I’m not real familiar with brands or anything, but I found this at a local music store after searching for a tenor for awhile.)

Ukuleles are not really designed for a strap, and unlike a guitar, you can’t really drill into the bottom to install that attachment thingie (as far as I know, anyway).
This is a piece of pretty ribbon sewn onto a wide cotton strap, and leather ends with grommets. The grommets are attached to a tie at the neck and a hook on the bottom. I’d like to do a tutorial eventually.
Added bonus: my ukulele-playing dashboard hula girl.
