Tutorial: Printing Square Photos

Sunday, January 27th, 2013

If you’re an avid iPhonographer, you probably have your fair share of square photos from Instagram or Hipstamatic. Printing them is a hassle, as most of the common photo printing services don’t offer square prints, and instead blow them up to fit the standard 4×6 size! Here’s an simple tutorial for creating a Photoshop action that will add a white border around your photos that can be easily sliced off.

Wanderlust – Free Printable 3″x4″ Journaling Cards

Tuesday, October 16th, 2012

I found a vintage atlas at my favorite local antique store for a few bucks, just begging to be ripped apart and used in all kinds of amazing projects. I scanned in some pages and created this set of 12 3″x4″ journaling cards for Project Life or any other scrapbooking/papercraft project your heart desires.

This download is in .zip format and consists of 12 individual CMYK .png files at 300 DPI – perfect for printing. Two have transparent backgrounds for framing your own images – to use, simply place over your photo in your favorite image editing program and crop. The photos in the preview are for example only and are not part of the download.

Free Printable: Your Evil Twin

Tuesday, July 31st, 2012

Here’s an inspirational quote for you to print off and hang on your fridge. Or office. Or wherever.

I like to think it’s a little more awesome than your standard “inspirational” quote. But you can be the judge of that.

Your Evil Twin Free Printable

"Live every day like your evil twin is coming to steal your life and do it better."

Fixed: Free Knit-Stitch Photoshop Brushes!

Friday, December 16th, 2011

I uploaded these knit stitch Photoshop brushes back in October, but I’ve since learned that the original file didn’t include all of the brushes. Oops! I re-packaged them for you, so you should be good to go! Merry Christmas!

Download! (.zip 359 KB)

To create a canvas of lovely stockinette (that never curls!) simply do the following:

1. With either the single or the row of stitches, position your cursor at the upper left side of your canvas (or at desired start point).
2. While holding the shift key down, click and drag your cursor to the bottom of your canvas (or to desired stop point)
3. Repeat along the entire length of your imagined sweater-canvas.

For gorgeous fair-isle or stranded colorwork, simply use the “filled” knit brush in the color of your choice to go over individual stitches:

In other words, please use and enjoy them, but *don’t* use them for profit or commercial use and please give me credit if you share or modify them!

Google Chrome Icon – Improved

Sunday, October 30th, 2011

Although I’m a very disorganized person IRL, I *need* to have an organized, clean, and consistent-looking desktop. This includes how my dock icons look, and unfortunately, I really dislike the colors in the Google Chrome icon. Bleh. So I decided to try to make one myself that isn’t quite so garish/flat. Go ahead and download it if you wish! I’ll talk about some free/simple ways to change up all of your icons in the near future!

Click here to download! (includes .png and .icns formats)
Obviously,  the icon itself won’t include the banner or logo image. :)
