If you’re an avid iPhonographer, you probably have your fair share of square photos from Instagram or Hipstamatic. Printing them is a hassle, as most of the common photo printing services don’t offer square prints, and instead blow them up to fit the standard 4×6 size! Here’s an simple tutorial for creating a Photoshop action that will add a white border around your photos that can be easily sliced off.

I've spent the weekend working on a scrapbook of my New York adventure. More accurately, I've been procrastinating by scouring Pinterest for travel book inspiration!
I saved every last ticket stub and map and pamphlet. The had part is writing; I'm no good at captioning or “journaling” cause it always seems so cheesy (this is my main beef with scrapbooks!)

I’ve been fairly busy this past week with work and all of the things that summer brings. My birthday was last Monday – 25! (Cue quarter-life crisis.)
We spent the weekend in Wausau with my family- got to spend some quality time with my siblings and my brother’s new puppy, and went flying with my dad. Pics to come, but in the meantime, enjoy a celebratory sprinkle waffle bowl. Delicious.

Hay guys.
I just wanted to pop in and show you all the button I FINALLY got around to making for my blog. You can grab it from the right sidebar. If you post buttons to blogs you read and you have a fancy to do that with mine, here’s your chance.

Here’s a larger version for kicks and giggles if you want to admire it. It’s a Hipstamatic print I took of the Stow-away-asaurus I got with my recent Photojojo order. I love that store. (PS I saved the GIF to loop infinitely, but my browser only shows it looping once. Does anyone know how to fix this, or if it loops infinitely in your browser?)
If you do grab it, let me know! I’d love to link back to you.

It’s not a secret that I love the Hipstamatic. If it weren’t for the novelty of my d-slr, it would probably be my go-to camera. Here’s a quick DIY for cute Hipstaprint notepads (aka “Hipstabooks”) that are great for tossing in your purse or giving as gifts… in fact, I’m giving one away to our Blog Better Challenge winner! Check out the tutorial after the jump…

Last weekend, I was at the store with my BFFSK* Jenna (who had flown in from Duke University for Christmas) and my mom. Â Jenna and I share a mutual love of dogs and spoiling them unnecessarily, so we went to look for Christmas presents for our dogs while my mom checked out storage options for Christmas cookies.
(Honestly, why bother storing them when we all know they’ll get plowed down in a matter of hours)
I found this adorable Lamb Chops toy, which reminded me of the Lamb Chops puppets that my brother and I used to have as kids. I *loved* Lamb Chops.

Okay, so Rory LOVES this toy. I have never seen her act so crazy for something that doesn’t involve a treat or a car ride. Â She lays on the floor with it in-between her paws, and barks ferociously at the cats when they walk by (they look at her like, “why in the HELL do you think we’d take your dumb lamb”)
She protects it fiercely – Â she actually picks it up, stretches with it in her mouth, and turns around before lying back down and resting it between her paws. Â It’s truly adorable.

After she put a teensy hole in it, she waited anxiously with her head on my knee, sighing frequently while I stitched it up.

What have you given the animals in your life for Christmas? Anything over the top? Anything little? Do tell me!
*Best Friend Forever Since Kindergarten. Yes, I know that the “Since Kindergarten” cancels out the “Forever”, but work with me here. Â Her brother is coincidentally one of the creators of the Hipstamatic and SwankoLab apps, which I used for these photos. Irony!

I’ve been a bad blogger lately. Really bad. I’ve been neglecting honestly everything that isn’t work or sleep. Unfortunately, this time of year is especially draining at my job and it makes me want to curl up in a ball and hibernate until June.
Anyway.
Last weekend, a friend of ours introduced us to this fantastic bar that I’ve always wanted to go to. I honestly believed that it was an abandoned building, because it was dead and run down. BUT it had these awesome, kickass seahorses on it.

So we go with our friend Paul, who says it has a tiny karaoke stage with microphones mounted to the wall and a sign that says “everybody gets the clap”. “NO WAY.” I say.
When we arrive: it’s true. Gloriously true.
Not only is the tiny stage there, but NOTHING else has changed since 1965. Blue shag carpeting. Vinyl, glittery chairs. A treasure chest filled with pirate booty. This grouted mirror in the bathroom:

Oh. My. God.

I didn’t get many other photos since it was so dark inside, but take a look at this gem:

Le sigh. It was awesome.
What did you do last weekend?

I’m going to start a new thing called Ravelry Wednesday around here. Â I spend quite a bit of time on Rav browsing patterns I will never realistically knit, so I should at least share them with the world.
Also – I am fully aware that it is no longer Wednesday. Â Oops. Â But, in my defense… I started it yesterday. Â So there.
¡Comencemos!
Hello, sweater of my dreams…

I cast on for this wonderous garment yesterday, and just got through the ribbing on the back. Â UGH I hate ribbing. Â But it looks so good!
This is where I’m at right now:

Yes, this is a terrible photo. Â But I don’t feel like dragging out my real camera and uploading it to my computer. Â You will have to deal with a Hipstamatic shot lit by the glow of my computer.
The reason I use yarn for markers instead of actual, pretty stitch markers (of which I have hundreds, probably) is that I’m tired of people saying “ohhh how beautiful what are you making??!?” only to find out that they’re really commenting on the jeweled markers and *not* the knitting. Â And then they’re disappointed that my sweater will not come with its own jewelry. Â And I want to kick them for not appreciating fine handwork. Â Also, I can’t find any right now.
If you’re not a member of Ravelry yet, go join! Â It’s amazing! Â If you are and want ot be friends with me, my username is NatalieDanger.
