Thursday, April 19th, 2012Fixed: Free Knit-Stitch Photoshop Brushes!
Friday, December 16th, 2011I uploaded these knit stitch Photoshop brushes back in October, but I’ve since learned that the original file didn’t include all of the brushes. Oops! I re-packaged them for you, so you should be good to go! Merry Christmas!
To create a canvas of lovely stockinette (that never curls!) simply do the following:
1. With either the single or the row of stitches, position your cursor at the upper left side of your canvas (or at desired start point).
2. While holding the shift key down, click and drag your cursor to the bottom of your canvas (or to desired stop point)
3. Repeat along the entire length of your imagined sweater-canvas.
For gorgeous fair-isle or stranded colorwork, simply use the “filled” knit brush in the color of your choice to go over individual stitches:

Sunday, October 16th, 2011**Edited 12/15** Apparently, the original download didn’t include all of the brushes. It should be fixed now! Let me know if you’re still having trouble!!**
Sweater weather is here, and that means dreams of knitting designs start dancing around my head. Since I can’t knit as much as I used to because of my bum arm, I can at least knit with Photoshop!
For your virtual-knitting pleasure, I created some simple knit-stitch Adobe Photoshop brushes!

Guess what- Â I LOVE comments! Let me know if you download them, and especially if you use them on your blog. I’d love to link to you!

Blog Photo School: Photo Borders
Sunday, October 9th, 2011I’m going to share some tips and techniques for taking and posting beautiful photos for your blog or website. If there is one thing that being a business owner (and more importantly, a consumer!) has taught me, it’s that appearance is everything.
Now, we’re told over and over to look past the surface; not to judge a book by its cover; beauty is only skin deep… but you know as well as I do that sites like Pinterest are popular because it’s a catalog of visually stunning things.
That being said! With the technology that’s available today (and oftentimes for free!), there’s no reason *not* to have an amazing looking blog or website. I’m going to show you how!
Blog Photo School: Borders 101
One way to give your website a more streamlined, professional look is to maintain a certain theme when you style your photos. A great way to do that is with borders around your photos! Here’s an easy way to add a scalloped border (or anything, really) with Photoshop.
(Note: If you don’t have Photoshop, there’s an amazing free program called The Gimp which is very similar. I used it for a long time before I even touched Photoshop. It has most of the same capabilities and a lot of functions are performed the same way. Give it a try!)
